Meet the clergy who serve our three parishes.

Fr Jim Walls
Fr Jim was born in Dundee and was educated in the local Catholic schools. After completing a degree in Zoology and Microbiology at Dundee University he worked for various conservation charities. In his late 20’s he entered the National Scots College in Glasgow where he trained for the priesthood. Ordained in 2005 he served for four years as the Assistant Priest in Monifieth, Carnoustie, and Arbroath, before being appointed Parish Priest at St Stephen’s Blairgowrie, St Luan’s Alyth, and St Mary’s Coupar Angus, from 2010 to 2013. From December 2013 Fr Jim served the parishes in the North East of Dundee until his appointment as Spiritual Director at the Scots College in Rome in May 2018. This four year appointment concluded in June 2022 whereafter he took up the appointment as Parish Priest in St Mary’s Lochee, and as Moderator to the parishes of St Leonard’s & St Fergus, and St Columbas. Fr Jim also helps coordinate Chaplain cover for Ninewells hospital.
Fr Alexander Obiorah

Fr Alexander Chukwudi Obiorah hails from Eziowelle, South East of Nigeria. He was born on 10th April 1975 and grew up in Onitsha. After his Primary School education, he studied in the seminaries of St. Paul (Minor Seminary), Ukpor, All Hallows, Onitsha, St Joseph, Ikot-Ekpene (Philosophy), and Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary, Onitsha (Theology). He was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Onitsha on August 27th 2005, by Cardinal Francis Arinze. After ordination he was appointed as a teacher and spiritual director at the Spiritual year Seminary and Chaplain for Catholic Students and Staff of National Metallurgical Training Institute Onitsha. He also gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from National Teachers Institute, Sokoto. In 2012 he was appointed Parish Priest of St Albert the Great Parish, Oraukwu. In 2014 he was asked to go to Australia and became assistant priest at Mersey Leven Parish in Tasmania for two years before becoming Parish Administrator of Circular Head Parish and Star of the Sea Parish, King Island. In August 2019 Fr Alex came to Scotland where he now serves as Assistant Priest in the parishes of St Mary's Lochee, St Leonard & St Fergus’, and St Columba's. 

Fr Jean Gové

Fr Jean was born in Malta. After completing his schooling under the De La Salle Brothers, he joined the Archbishop’s Seminary, in Tal-Virtu’, Rabat, Malta in 2012. He was subsequently ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Malta by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna in St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta on 27th April 2019, at the age of 26. After completing his theological studies at the University of Malta, Fr Jean was asked to further his studies. In September 2018 he moved to Scotland to begin postgraduate studies in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. While carrying out his studies, Fr Jean is attached to our parishes.
